Formed in August 2002
by a group of leading, South African veterinarians
Animal Aid for Africa is a South African based
Section 21, non-profit,
non-government organisation.
With its focus on delivering sustainable solutions
to malnourishment and the spread of zoonotic diseases,
by generating a better educated and empowered
veterinary channel, Animal Aid for Africa (AAA)
aims to uplift disadvantaged communities across
sub-Saharan Africa.
to
achieve these goals...
AAA institutes dialogue
with veterinarians in countries to South Africa’s
north, visits with them and ascertains their personal
needs in terms of training and equipment. Once
these needs are identified, AAA implements in
country training and service programmes, utilising
the knowledge provided by local veterinary experts
from industry and private practice.
Over the past six years, AAA veterinarians have
visited five countries, Madagascar, Mozambique,
Tanzania, Namibia and Zambia, undertaking 21 outward
bound tours to date. Veterinarians from some of
these countries have come to South Africa for
ongoing training here.
All AAA veterinarians and staff donate their time
to the sharing of knowledge
with peers.
